For parents of capable students

“They know how to do it.
They just won’t do it.”

If you have said that about your student, this page is for you.

This might be a fit if

  • Your student knows the material, but the work does not get turned in
  • Getting started takes longer than the work itself
  • Nothing happens unless you are sitting right there
  • Assignments come apart somewhere in the middle
  • You have become the person who holds all the deadlines

That is usually not about effort, and it is not about ability.

It is a mismatch between how your student works and how the task is set up.

A mismatch is something we can change.

How it goes

01

Assessment

About two weeks. In-person work sessions, interviews and assessments, plus a review of records you already have. It ends in a written plan.

02

Sixteen weeks

A weekly training session where your student practises and builds the skills. Caregiver training runs alongside it: how to support, and when to step back, so the skills transfer.

03

Stepping back

Sessions taper, then check-ins at 30, 60 and 90 days. The skills have to keep working once I am out of the room.

Not tutoring · Not therapy · Not a diagnosis · I do not teach subject content

In person across Hillsborough, Pinellas, Manatee and Sarasota counties, and online throughout Florida.

Approved Provider

Your Unique Abilities scholarship can pay for this
